The Swiss annual vignette offers maximum value. It is valid for up to 14 months: from December 1 of the prior year until January 31 of the following year (e.g., the 2026 vignette is valid from Dec 1, 2025, to Jan 31, 2027).

Good to know
- No short-term options: There are no weekly or monthly vignettes. Even if you are just transiting Switzerland for an hour, you must purchase the annual vignette.
- The trailer rule (1 vehicle = 1 vignette): If you are towing a caravan, boat, or utility trailer, you must purchase TWO separate vignettes—one for the car and one for the trailer.
- Motorbikes pay full price: Motorcycles and trikes require their own separate vignette and are charged the same flat rate of 40 CHF.
- Toll tunnels: The vignette covers almost all highways and major tunnels (including the Gotthard). However, the Grand St. Bernard Tunnel and Munt la Schera Tunnel are separate toll zones paid directly on-site.
- Windshield protection: By choosing the digital e-vignette over the old paper sticker, your toll is linked to your plate. If your windshield cracks or you change your car glass, your vignette remains 100% valid.
