Prices are official state prices in Hungarian forint. EUR amounts are approximate. EuroGoPass adds a 10% service fee on all except annual vignettes. Annual vignettes are sold at state price.

Hungary also offers annual county-specific vignettes for individual regions. If you only transit through one county, this may be a cheaper option. EuroGoPass will show you the relevant options for your route.

Prices valid as of 2026. Subject to change by Hungarian authorities.

Good to know

  • If you accidentally enter a toll road without a vignette, you have 60 minutes to buy one — no fine will be issued.
  • Cameras are often placed directly after the border crossing. Buy before you enter Hungary, not after.
  • D1 category (standard passenger cars up to 7 seats): trailers are included, no separate vignette needed.
  • D2 category (campervans, vehicles with 8–9 seats, goods transport under 3.5 t): trailers require a separate vignette.
  • Motorbikes require their own category (D1M) — they cannot use a D1 vignette.
  • Annual vignettes run from purchase date for 13 months (current year + January of the following year).
  • Hungary also offers county-specific annual vignettes — useful if you only drive through one region regularly.

Commonquestions

Category D1 — for cars with up to 7 seats and a maximum total weight of 3.5 t. Trailers are included in the D1 vignette at no extra cost.

Only if your car falls into the D2 category (more than 7 seats or a campervan). For standard D1 cars, the trailer is covered.

Before the vignette starts: yes, with EuroGoPass Plus you can change details up to 15 minutes before validity begins. During validity: corrections of up to 3 characters can be made in person at a Hungarian toll operator customer service office within 60 days. Fee: approx. 3.50 €. Zero/O mix-ups are free to correct.

Only with EuroGoPass Plus — you can shift the start date up to 15 minutes before it begins.

Hungary offers county-specific annual vignettes that are significantly cheaper than a full national annual vignette. EuroGoPass will show you the relevant option based on your route.

If you're driving through Hungary from Central Europe toward the Balkans, you may also need vignettes for Slovakia, Romania, or Slovenia. EuroGoPass calculates everything automatically for your full route.

  • All motorways and expressways marked with "M" require an e-vignette: M0 (selected sections), M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, M6, M7, M15, M19, M25, M30, M35, M43, M44 (selected sections, from June 2025), M60, M70, M85, M86.
  • Some sections are toll-free and do not require a vignette — EuroGoPass accounts for this automatically.
