Prices are official state prices. EuroGoPass adds a 10% service fee on 1-day, 10-day, and 2-month vignettes. Annual vignettes are sold at the official state price with zero added service fee.

Please note that certain alpine tunnels and mountain passes (such as the Brenner Pass, Tauern Tunnel, and Arlberg Tunnel) are independent toll sections. They require a separate Section Toll (Streckenmaut) in addition to the standard vignette. EuroGoPass will calculate and include these options automatically based on your itinerary.

Prices valid as of 2026. Subject to change by Austrian authorities.

Good to know

  • Instant validity: Official state online portals enforce a mandatory 18-day consumer protection waiting period before a digital vignette becomes active. Purchasing via EuroGoPass completely bypasses this — your vignette is valid instantly from the moment of purchase.
  • Trailers are included: For standard passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes, towed vehicles like caravans, trailers, or boat rigs do not require a separate vignette.
  • Section tolls (Streckenmaut): A standard vignette does not cover specific cost-intensive alpine sections like the A13 Brenner Motorway, A10 Tauern Motorway, or S16 Arlberg Expressway. These require an extra fee, which EuroGoPass packages seamlessly into your custom route plan.
  • Extended annual validity: The annual vignette provides up to 14 months of coverage, running from December 1 of the prior year until January 31 of the following year.
  • Automatic enforcement: High-speed camera gantries track vehicle plates continuously. Entering a toll highway for even a short distance without registration results in an immediate automatic fine.

Driving without a vignette

ViolationSubstitute toll (Ersatzmaut)Escalated fine (Administrative)
Missing or invalid vignette (Cars)120 €up to 3 000 €
Missing or invalid vignette (Motorcycles)65 €up to 3 000 €

The substitute toll (Ersatzmaut) must be paid immediately upon receiving the notice to avoid escalation to local administrative authorities, where fines can skyrocket up to 3,000 €.

Commonquestions

No! If you buy your digital vignette through EuroGoPass, it is processed commercially, meaning it becomes valid immediately without any 18-day consumer protection delay. You can purchase it right before your trip or even at the border.

No. In Austria, if your main towing vehicle has a maximum weight up to 3.5 tonnes, any attached trailer, caravan, or utility rig is fully covered by the car's e-vignette.

Yes, you need both if your route crosses specific alpine zones. High-maintenance routes like the A13 Brenner Pass, A10 Tauern Tunnel, S16 Arlberg Tunnel, A9 Pyhrn, and A11 Karawanken Tunnel are excluded from the standard vignette. EuroGoPass identifies these automatically and adds the correct digital section tickets to your order.

Before the vignette's validity window begins: Yes. With EuroGoPass Plus, you can adjust your plate characters or registration country up to 15 minutes before activation. Once active, the data is locked into the national system and cannot be altered.

Because the digital e-vignette is linked exclusively to your vehicle's licence plate, replacing your windshield has zero impact on your toll status. Your coverage remains 100% active.

Austria is centrally located, and journeys often cross into Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, or Switzerland. EuroGoPass maps your entire route to ensure you clear every required digital checkpoint with one click.

  • A digital vignette is mandatory on all Austrian motorways (Autobahn - A) and expressways (Schnellstraße - S), including major transit arteries: A1 (Westautobahn), A2 (Südautobahn), A4, A7, A8, A9, A10 (Tauernautobahn), A11, A12 (Inntalautobahn), A14, S1, S2, S6, S16, S36.
  • Special independent Section Toll areas (where additional charges apply via EuroGoPass integration): A9 Pyhrn Motorway (Bosruck & Gleinalm Tunnels), A10 Tauern Motorway (Tauern & Katschberg Tunnels), A11 Karawanken Motorway, A13 Brenner Motorway, S16 Arlberg Expressway (Arlberg Tunnel).
